The Pumpkinvine Trail

While I was in Indiana, hubby and I took a few hours to bike the Pumpkinvine Trail. We didn’t bike ALL of it. We biked 5 miles one way and 5 miles back. That was a lot for us.

The trail is a real beauty. In total it is 16.5 miles connecting Goshen, Middlebury and Shipshewana. It runs behind homes and farms and schoolhouses. It’s off the beaten path.

We saw quite a few people walking and biking the trail–even whole families. Many of them were Amish folks going back and forth to work or home. Which started me thinking. I wonder how many trails are close to me? It’s so easy to forget about the things in your own area.

Whether you’re on a trail or in a park or in your own neighborhood, I encourage you to go out, slow down, and enjoy the season. It’s a simple way to spend a few hours, and one that is sure to give you a fresh perspective.

Blessings,

V

P.S. – I did want to pass along the names of three winners from the last few weeks (who I’ve contacted by email). Danna Spilla won the picture of Max and MW. Janet Estridge won the quilt squares and MW which I offered in my newsletter, and Debbie Price won a copy of MW. Thank you, everyone, for entering!
