Lolly's Fabrics and Quilts
Amish View: Lolly’s Fabrics and Quilts
One of my favorite places in Shipshewana is Lolly’s. No surprise, right? Falling to Pieces is set in a quilt shop! When I first visited Shipshe in the summer of 2010, I was fascinated with Lolly’s because it reminded me of when I was a child and I’d go to fabric stores with my mother. She always MADE my school clothes. I love the smell and touch and sound of fabric stores.
A year later, this summer, I went back to Lolly’s with Zondervan’s marketing team. I didn’t realize how much that store had seeped into my heart. It had spilled from my memory straight to the pages of my story.
I’d like to spend a week in Lolly’s, curled up in a chair in the corner–watching folks and typing on my laptop. Every now and then I’d pull down a bolt of fabric, run my fingers over it and say, “I’ll take a yard of this.” You can visit it by clicking here. Do go there. Her website is amazing.
