Births
It FEELS like a birth when you send a manuscript out into the world. Yesterday I was thankful and ecstatic to complete A SIMPLE AMISH CHRISTMAS, and yes I did a bit of a snoopy dance as I mailed it off to my lovely editor at Abingdon Press. I adore this book, and I hope you will too.
[wpvideo a5taWPLi]It seems fitting that as winter truly gives way to spring, I would finish one project and begin another. I trust you are enjoying the warmth of the sun and the freedom longer days bring. Before we know it, the seasons will turn again–we’ll be pulling the sweaters back out and looking forward to Christmas once more.
I’m writing this blog at the beginning of Holy Week, and my pastor just reminded me that part of the message of this week as we head toward the bleakness of the cross, the despair the disciples must have felt, and then the glorious resurrection of Easter is that God will work it out–whatever our problems we can trust him.
I pray with each book I write that it will be “fiction full of grace.” If even a little of God’s grace becomes more evident through my characters and their lives, then I will have done my job.
Let me know if you enjoyed the video! And may Easter morning find you celebrating with those you love.
