We’ve been studying Paul in our Tuesday night Bible study. I thought I knew quite a bit about Paul, but I sure have learned a lot more. Did you know that Paul wrote 13 of the 27 books in the New Testament? Wow! Of course, many of those books are Continue reading
Midweek Inspiration — And a Birthday Celebrations
This week I’m celebrating a birthday. So I thought that for today’s blog I would thank YOU for all the help and support you have been to me over the past year.
I’m consistently amazed at how much readers Continue reading
Don’t we just love turning the calendar page? In Texas, even when drought has stolen our flowers, Continue reading
This week I wanted to share with you a picture from my back yard. I love this vine which I believe is a trumpet vine. The arbor is made from Cedar–my husband cut down a few of the smaller cedars and built it last year. But what amazes me is that the trumpet vine blooms, in spite of our drought which has been going on for several years now.
Isn’t that amazing? Hummingbirds come and hover around the blooms, drawing sustenance. Bees buzz in and out of the blossoms. The leaves provide shade. In the midst of drought, we have all of these blessings.
Which brings me to Deuteronomy 28:12
The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.
Isn’t that a lovely promise? Many of us in Texas are draw encouragement from those words. What promise from God’s word helps you through difficult times? Use the leave-a-reply at the top of this post and encourage someone else today.
Easter, St. Francis of Assisi and Music

Midweek Inspiration, Miranda Lambert’s Automatic
I’ve admitted before to being a Country & Western music fan. Occasionally I’ll hear a song that just seems to “speak to me.” I think there are a lot of lyrics in this song, that many of us can relate to.
I enjoy the season leading up to Easter. It’s a special time of year in the life of any Christian. It’s a time when we stop and consider the sacrifice that Christ made on the cross for you and for me.
Usually during Lent I try to think of something to give up – like Continue reading
Midweek Inspiration, Loving Others
Last Sunday, my pastor showed a video about loving others. The scripture verse we focused on was Matthew 5:43-44. “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” He showed us this little video that I Continue reading
