Thanksgiving Fun

iStock_000014567744XSmallI absolutely adore this photo. It contains so many things that I love about this time of year–fall colors, pumpkins, children, haystacks, and cooler weather. Babies have a way of making me smile. They’re very “in the moment.” They’re not worried about Thanksgiving dinner or whether it will rain as they’re driving across the great state of Texas.

Which is pretty much how we’re commanded to be. In Luke 12:25, Christ reminds us, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” And He goes farther than that by promising us peace. Colossians 3:15. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

What do you think? Would you care to join me in not worrying? Allowing Christ’s peace to rule? Being thankful? I think it’s a perfect recipe for Thanksgiving.

Yes, we should be worry free at all times as God’s peace and love is awesome! And we can live worry free when we are trusting Him for all things in our lives. Love the picture you shared–so happy and worry free!

Thanks for the reminder to relax and enjoy the day. Looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with our son and daughter-in-law. Happy Thanksgiving.

I love what I read in today’s reading from “Jesus Calling”—“Thankfulness opens your heart to My Presence and your mind to My thoughts.”
Vannetta, I am thankful for the many hours of relaxing reading your books have given me.

She is so adorable.I have six grandsons, and they definitely take your worries away. Just watching them play outside enjoying the outdoors is so relaxing. Then when you don’t expect it one of them climbs up beside you and says Grandma I love you. Let Christ worry for us. Enjoy life, it is to precious to be worrying all the time.
