photoMid-week Inspiration: Rain, Wildflowers and God’s Promises

This week I wanted to share with you a picture from my back yard. I love this vine which I believe is a trumpet vine. The arbor is made from Cedar–my husband cut down a few of the smaller cedars and built it last year. But what amazes me is that the trumpet vine blooms, in spite of our drought which has been going on for several years now.

Isn’t that amazing? Hummingbirds come and hover around the blooms, drawing sustenance. Bees buzz in and out of the blossoms. The leaves provide shade. In the midst of drought, we have all of these blessings.

Which brings me to Deuteronomy 28:12

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.

Isn’t that a lovely promise? Many of us in Texas are draw encouragement from those words. What promise from God’s word helps you through difficult times? Use the leave-a-reply at the top of this post and encourage someone else today.

Blessings,

V

    I love the homemade arbor and the beautiful colorful trumpet vine that is growing on it. Thanks for sharing with us and for leaving us with the scripture from Deuteronomy 28:12.

    The two scriptures that I rely on from God’s Word to help me get through difficult times is found in Proverbs 3:5-6.

    Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

    Blessings!

      That is a lovely arbor. We have some sage and other native flowers blooming at my place. My Easter lilies from years past are coming up, what a blessing the tiny sprouts are to me.

      This verse is my favorite in times of adversity, First Corinthians 10:13 says,

      “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man;
      but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,
      but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

    Love the picture of your arbor and the trumpet vine. WE are in a drought here as well. But today we are getting light rain and that is a blessing . Our flowers are starting to come up and can’t wait to see them all in bloom. All the promises that have been posted on here give me hope and helps to see all of through difficult times.

    very good post Vannetta. Glad your Trumpet Vines are blooming. They are beautiful. Keep hoping that part of Texas will get the needed rain. But even here in the Houston area we are still low for the year. Don’t think we ever caught up yesterday.I would love to get this book of yours. It really sounds like a good one. Some of the scriptures above are some of my favorites, and also Fear not, for I am with you. That has helped me in times I feel alone. See you later. Maxie mac262(at)me(dot)com
