I am retired now, seriously though, is a women ever retired?? The best part of being retired is the fact that my husband isn’t! No, no, I’m just joking folks, don’t take me seriously. I enjoy that my husband has an hour lunch each day and since he works less than a mile from home I see him daily and I have his lunch meal prepared for him by the time he walks in the door. I hope I put some sunshine in a hectic day for him.

I work for the Bar Association in my city. Among other things one of my responsibilities is finding legal help for individuals who need attorneys but can’t afford one. My favorite part is successfully helping a parent who truly puts their child first. It’s tough so much of the time because so often children are used as pawns.

    Geri Kelley

  30. Marie Pinkham

I am a Home Health Aide and love being part of my senior clients’ lives. I strive to care for them as I would like someone to care for my own mom. If I can add some extra joy to their lives, or help help make their “new normal” lives more pleasant, and share some of God’s love with them, then I consider my day a success.

  31. Martha Franks

I am long retired from my job as dental office manager. Now I have time to do the things I really love: garden, read, travel and volunteer work in my church. I love my life!

  32. Carol Carman

Vannetta, I hope to spend this beautiful day getting some yard and garden work done slowly in increments (thanks to a misbehaving knee), helping hubby design a well pump house and finally, working on my Etsy store. I hadn’t planned to be retired at 63, but since moving, haven’t found any other work. I’m still trying to learn how to “enjoy” not contributing a whole lot financially to my family….I adore your books. “Falling To Pieces” is my all-time favorite, and all the others are a very close second, LOL!

Best part of my job was helping folks who didn’t understand so many financial aspects of state benefits, sometimes just listening.

  38. Lisa Cregan

I am a psychiatric nurse working in a state hospital. Since I was about 7 years old there was nothing else I wanted to do with my life but nurse. I love the population of people I work with and enjoy seeing the transformation when the medications are working correctly. Many psychiatric patients are very talented people, artists, writers, and musicians to name a few. It brings joy to my heart to see their minds clear with the medications and they can enjoy their lives again.
