Amish Holiday Tip, Worship

WORSHIP is an important part of the Christmas celebration in Amish homes.

Some Amish communities celebrate Christmas on December 25th and Old Christmas (Epiphany) on January 6th. Many communities fast the morning of Christmas through to the afternoon meal. They spend the time in prayer, Bible study, and worship! The Amish in general do not have an extra church service in order to celebrate, but rather they worship in their homes, with their families.

Putting CHRIST into our Christmas celebration isn’t difficult. It only requires a little planning and the intention of doing so. It only requires remembering and celebrating Him.

5 books, web Now for this week’s contest.

This is our last contest of 2012, though I do have some exciting things planned for the new year. This week’s winner will receive:

“Season’s Greetings!” What a more than generous giveaway and I would
enjoy it immensely…Also, I have to mention the community of New Town, CT.
I can’t imagine the pain the feeling; although, I can hardly watch the news or
read the articles in the paper; without tears.
    Many thanks, Cindi

Blessings to you and your family. I think if we included worship in our lives as the Amish do, we all would feel much better.

We have failed to teach our children that Christmas is not about what we get how much it cost but we should be more like the Amish praise and pray that Jesus was born and to die for us. A lot of people only go to church on Christmas and Easter only to show off the new cloths and jewerly they get.

Our family is so missing our worship at our church due to my sweet sister still being in the hospital. BUT, she had the surgery to repair her hip – Thursday night & she is doing really good – I believe that we just may be home for CHRISTmas! I truly love the way the Amish worship! Thanks for all you do to minister to all of us!

Though I would greatly appreciate winning your books I would much rather win them to give as gifts to others who may need an inspirational word from God which I believe you put into each of your stories. I only found you a few months ago as an author. Would be honored to win your back books so I can get caught up on all of your published books. I’m retired and not able to get out alot so I spend most days reading. I get tired of tv, don’t like talk shows, court tv, most of the shows that are called sitcoms. Give me a good book, Amish, suspense, Christian Fiction and I can read for days on end. Just have to quit long enough to do the daily things we all have to do – cook, clean, laundry, etc. Thank you for this opportunity and God bless you & yours.

I love celebrating Christmas with my Amish neighbors. Today, I went out and bought a few Christmas goodies for one of my Amish neighbors children. They have 2 children; one, a 16 month old little boy, LeRoy Nissley, who was just released a couple days ago from Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital in Nashville. He accidently drank ‘Coleman Fuel’ and was in CCU for days.
Thank you for your generosity to offer these books. I hope I’m not too late.
