Amish Holiday Tip, Worship
WORSHIP is an important part of the Christmas celebration in Amish homes.
Some Amish communities celebrate Christmas on December 25th and Old Christmas (Epiphany) on January 6th. Many communities fast the morning of Christmas through to the afternoon meal. They spend the time in prayer, Bible study, and worship! The Amish in general do not have an extra church service in order to celebrate, but rather they worship in their homes, with their families.
Putting CHRIST into our Christmas celebration isn’t difficult. It only requires a little planning and the intention of doing so. It only requires remembering and celebrating Him.
This is our last contest of 2012, though I do have some exciting things planned for the new year. This week’s winner will receive:
- An autographed copy of each of my books – yes, the entire set of 5.
- Bill Coleman Amish calendar
Leave a comment below with your email and you are entered!
As always, you have the opportunity to enter the contest more than once by sharing the information from this blog with your friends, posting a link on facebook, or submitting an online review of one of my books. Be sure to leave me a 2nd comment stating what you did. (Only 2 entries per person).
The contest deadline is Tuesday evening 7:00 p.m. (CST), December 18th.
