My largest or at least the blessing I am feeling most, right at this moment, is the blessing of family and friends that are there for me, esp during difficult times. πŸ™‚

My blessing is my husband. He is disabled due to a stroke in 2009, but he has been my caretaker when I fell and broke my back, has always been my #1 fan even when I haven’t been so loveable, and always looks for ways to show me he loves me. We met and have been together since 2000. God truly blessed me when he brought him into my life.

Only for you, Vannetta, would I enter a Christmas contest in October! I love, love, love your new Christmas Quilt book! The blessing I am thankful for tonight is my husband. Hubby did ALL the driving, and sharing special time with him was a wonderful blessing.

My blessing is that I came through a very serious surgery alive. I had surgery on my neck/spine and I am still having good days and bad days. And I am blessed to have a super husband that is taking good care of me. 9 years ago I had Gastric Bypass Surgery, I am alive and well today and very healthy. am blessed that my husband Gary didn’t listen to me every time I told him to turn the car around and take me home, that I didn’t want to have the surgery. If I didn’t have it when I did, i wouldn’t be here today. My family and friends stood behind me then and still do, I have good days and bad days when I might take that one bite too much and make myself sick. But most of my days are very good days.

  29. Melissa L.

I am thankful for my daughters. I had difficult pregnancies with both so God gave me two blessings!! My world has never been the same since they arrived.

Oh, Vannetta – we all have been blessed so many times, it is hard to pick out just one thing, for which to be grateful! Of course, the biggest blessing is my salvation, but there are so many other blessings, for which I am so grateful: my family, friends, this beautiful world, a roof over my head, clothes to wear, & food to eat, music, – & don’t forget, books, & our wonderfully inspirational Christian authors!! These are, ALL, some of the things that I am most grateful for!

  32. Melanie Backus

My greatest blessing is certainly my family. I am blessed to have a loving husband. He and I will celebrate our 38th anniversary in just a few days. My daughter and son-law and precious grandchildren are one mile from me one direction and I still have both of my parents who live one mile from me another direction. My son and daughter-law live a short fifteen miles down the road so I have been richly blessed.
    I have sent an email.

  35. Susan Beaird

My blessing was being able to have in my life a loving Grandpa for only 6 years and a Grandma for 16 years. I have so many memories of my grandpa showing me how to garden and my grandma showing me how to cook (as well as her sharing her most secret recipes). I miss them every day. Thank you for opportunity to enter…I have also shared on FB

  36. Sonja

Vanetta, I have so many blessings! I don’t know which to write about, there are spiritual blessings, such as the Savior’s birth, which is of course, why we are celebrating Christmas, my family, my security, warm home, friends and temporal blessings, as well. I think it is very amazing that you would crochet something for your give-away, what a truly personal touch. Whoever wins that will really have something special to remember!

I am blessed with a good husband, two children with great spouses, and the most special 7 grandchildren.

  40. Barbara Thompson

I’m very blessed to have my special Mother. She leads not only by words, but by example. I can always go and talk to her. There has been nights I would hear something and I would peek around the door and Mom would be on her knees praying. I started having a lot of health problems approximately 15 years ago and the doctors told me they were all genetic. I developed a spine disease and it’s very bad in my cervical spine. As time has went on, I’ve become disabled because of a medical error that causes serious health complications and Mom’s right there with me. God blessed me with the most wonderful Mother anyone could ever have. I’m so very grateful and could never thank the Lord enough

  41. Barbara Thompson

Also, I emailed the comment to a friend!

I do not have the new book “The Christmas Quilt”. Since I’ve become disabled, my budget is very limited, but I’m hoping my library will buy a copy so I can read it. I’ve read great reviews and looking forward to next Saturday to read what you have to say. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

    1. Teri Walker

Barbara, Please send me your address and I will make sure you have Vannetta’s books. I would hate to see one person not be blessed like I have by her books.

I met my handsome husband in 1997. I had just divorced my first husband after many years of abuse. Mke came into my life and treated me like a queen. We married in 1999 and he has made me feel like a queen every single day. I know he is the man our heavenly father picked out just for me.

  49. Linda Knott

I’m grateful because my 22 year old grandson wrote me on Facebook and asked me to lunch. You see, I hadn’t seen him since he was 12. We had a great 2 hours talking and getting to know each other. He’s now going to try to get his brothers, who are also adults now, to meet with me. That would indeed be a blessing! Your Christmas drawing looks marvelous.

  50. Jean Junkin

The blessing I am grateful for is God carrying me through when I left a situation of domestic violence with my 5 children in tow. I look back and know, it was only through his carrying us we are where and who we are today

  55. Susan Fletcher

I could write a book (ha ha) on the blessings in my life. The biggest blessing in my life is my parents who raised me and my 4 brothers in a Christian home surrounded by love, life lessons, and values. My parents are now 89 and 86 and still a major part of our lives with their steadfast love and devotion to each other and love for others. They have been married 66 years! They are my best friends and best supporters! I thank God daily for them!

  56. Alice Compoly

I have many things that I’m Bless with- but the greatest Blessings in my life are my Everloving husband of 31 years ( I’d met him 33years ago thru a dating service) , my two sons and my two beautiful Grandchildren. And I must say the love/ Faith from God. What more can you ask for??

  61. Kathy Rowe

First, I loved the book! Second, I am most thankful for my husband “holding his own” right now with his illness (cancer.) He lost a kidney to cancer and recovered very well. Than about nine months later, cancerous tumors came in the bladder. He’s had two surgeries to remove tumors so far. Takes treatments every so often and hopefully they are working. I called a friend to tell her to enter your contest.

  64. Loretta

Since I’m spending the afternoon with friends from many years ago (we all used to go to church together), I’ll say I’m thankful for friendships that continue through the years even if we don’t see each other a lot. A wonderful covered dish lunch, fellowship, sharing–with God in the center of it, what could be better?

  65. Andrea Hinson

I have two daughters one won’t look at a sewing machine, she is the oldest with two kids. My youngest has 8 kids with another on the way. Last year she wanted to make her husband a t-shirt quilt for Christmas and she did. She has made several quilts throughout the year but she has finished 4 pieced tops for her girls and is working on the boys now for Christmas. The best part is she never wanted to sew.

  66. Barbara Hooper

I have been blessed so many times in my life and have two Christian sons and 31/2 grandchildren who are learning about God’s love for them. I love your books and can’t wait to start reading Quilts of Love as I am trying to learn hand quilting.

  67. Bobbe Hadley

I am feeling very blessed this time of year knowing I have just received news a couple weeks ago that the cancer I have been treated for since June has shown in the last scan I had seems to have disappeared. I am continuing the chemo treatments keeping my pinkies crossed that positive results will continue with all the prayers & support I have been blessed these last few months.

  68. Melinda WORD

I’m blessed that I live at a time & in a place where reading wonderful books is not just freely allowed, but encouraged. I think we take may this blessing for granted; when we do, we need to think of the young woman Malala, who has shown us all how fragile this freedom may be for many of our sisters. I’m not at all sure I would have her courage and strength.

  69. mb55

Blessings overflow daily. I live where I see beautiful all around. Canadian geese land on our ponds and raise their young on our place every year. Buffalo roam at the place next door so I see them running with their young. Squirrels run everywhere. Life is good and I am blessed.

  70. Judith A Fritz

What an awesome give away! Thanks for the opportunity! My greatest blessing is and will forever be the people who diligently prayed for me when I was an unbeliever! They NEVER let up and continued in the gap until I heard my Father’s voice calling me! What an amazing blessing that I will forever be blessed for!! I pray everyone has someone standing in the gap for them until they hear His voice!
